Job Description

What To Expect
As a Tesla Construction Technician, you will play a crucial role in new construction and building improvements at the Sparks Factory and surrounding facilities. You will be responsible for safety and general labor duties. Completion and documenting safety workplace examinations. This is a physically demanding job working within production areas inside and outside, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. Occasional work in wet environments inside or outside of the building. In addition, you will at times wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Work weeks can extend to six-day work weeks with minimal notice due to demand shutdowns/line failures/emergencies, this including working holidays so a flexible schedule change is a plus.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with Tool Install Management team on construction and Facility improvement projects, managing scopes of work including demolition, drilling, painting, framing, and moreHandle daily activities such as loading/unloading materials, operating various tools, mobile equipment, and machineryFamiliarity with materials like paint, epoxy, concrete, Unistrut, and metals; consult manuals and installation instructions for equipmentPerform tasks outside core competency, learn new skills as needed, complete tasks promptly, and provide feedback to stakeholdersLayout and measure metal stock, align and secure fixtures/tools, establish work procedures, and dispose of waste materialExchange technical information with colleagues, evaluate machining procedures, and recommend improvements for efficiencyPlan production procedures, dismantle and repair machines, and install components or new equipment
