Personnel Plus, Inc. is NOW HIRING Scale-House Operators to start immediately for the County Landfill!
Full-time, Day shift hours (Days off are rotated periodically)
• Monday–Wednesday, 7 am – 5 pm & Thursday-Saturday, 7 am – 5 pm
• Temporary 6 month assignment
DUTIES:
• Greets and assists customers upon arrival at the landfill
• Provides instruction on proper disposal of waste materials
• Operates scales to weigh loads and determine charges
• Estimates load volume and calculates accurate payments
• Handles cash transactions and follows department procedures
• Inspects incoming loads to identify hazardous or unauthorized waste
• Directs customers to appropriate disposal areas
• Opens and closes gates and cashier’s office, controlling admittance
• Answers customer inquiries in person and by phone
• Performs data entry regarding disposal records
• Provides pricing information for potential future loads
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous cashier experience preferred
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and basic math
• Computer and office equipment proficiency
• Ability to follow and communicate written and verbal instructions
• Strong customer service skills, even under pressure
• Ability to work independently and make routine decisions
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Ability to wear protective gear when required
• Be drug-free and able to pass background requirements
