Job Description

A small rural K–6 school with approximately 60 students, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate holds, or is eligible for, a New Hampshire Special Educator Certificate (#1900). This position offers the opportunity to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in both classroom and resource settings, while collaborating closely with staff, service providers, and families to ensure student success.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver modified academic instruction to students with a range of disabilities in both inclusion and resource room settings.
• Adapt lessons, curriculum, and materials to align with students’ IEP goals and individual needs.
• Collaborate and consult with related service providers, fellow special educators, and general education teachers.
• Supervise and provide direction to assigned paraprofessionals.
• Conduct student assessments, prepare reports, and participate actively in IEP team meetings.
• Write, implement, and monitor IEPs and progress reports; maintain accurate records and data.
• Establish and maintain effective communication and partnerships with parents and guardians.

Experience You’ll Need:

• Valid NH Special Educator Certificate (#1900) or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with a variety of disabilities.
• Strong understanding of instructional strategies for differentiated learning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, service providers, and families.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
